Moving tables, carrying boxes, and hanging signs are some of the duties this opportunity includes. An efficient set-up will set the tone for an organized event and a positive guest experience.

SATURDAY: Parking Attendants

We're looking for trustworthy, assertive adults for this volunteer position. You will be stationed at a specific section of the parking lot that will merge with our racecourse. Whenever a runner is nearby, you will stop and hold ALL traffic until the course is clear.

Feel free to bring a buddy to keep you company and help ensure your designated parking area is safe and secure.

Volunteers needed to assist our staff members with participant check-in, packet pick-up, and on-site registration. This is a fast-paced zone with lots of moving parts. Our experienced staff members will lead the way and answer any questions that may arise. With your help, we will ensure every runner is ready to go prior to their specific starting time.

SATURDAY: Course Guides

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

With a cool official title of "Course Marshall," you will get to help guide participants running our 5K and 5M courses. Each volunteer will be assigned to a specific location on the course map and will be required to remain in their spot until the last runner passes by. Use your voice to encourage runners and direct them around tricky turns, ensuring everyone stays on track and enjoys the event.

SATURDAY: Elevator Assistants

Some of our participants will need use of the stadium elevator to get to the starting lines located on the field level. This includes participants with strollers and wheelchairs. To provide the best experience to ALL our guests, we are looking for volunteers to assist participants at the entry and exit of the stadium elevator.

SATURDAY: Kids Run Course Helpers

Details

This might be the easiest (and fastest) volunteer opportunity around. We are looking for volunteers who are one-part cheerleader and one-part friendly police officer. As participants race around the outside of the baseball field (called the "warning track"), it will be your job to ensure they don't wander onto the grass field.

What a great volunteer opportunity for friends and/or family members of race participants to get in on the action and cheer on their favorite runners!

The race doesn't take very long, so feel free to enjoy the rest of the day as one of our guests. Or if you're feeling extra helpful, feel free to sign-up for an additional volunteer role to help with the remainder of our event.

SATURDAY: Cheering Sections

Each year we position cheering sections throughout our course to provide extra energy and motivation for our runners. Feel free to dress in costume, make signs, bring noise makers and most importantly - HAVE FUN!

SATURDAY: Stadium Entrance Guide

Details

We are looking for volunteers to help guide our 5K and 5M participants back into the baseball stadium as they near the end of their race. You will be positioned near the back entrance of the stadium, directing runners into the tunnel and onto the baseball field track where our finish line is located.

Participants might be pretty tired at this point, so our goal is to provide extra motivation and encouragement as they enter the stadium towards the finish line.

This is a wonderful opportunity for volunteers who want to be in the action and ensure our event is a huge success. The happier participants are at the end of the race, the more likely they will join us again next year to support foster care!

SATURDAY: Finish Line Exit Guides

Details

As participants finish their race, help us quickly direct them towards the exit aisle located near third base. Congratulate and thank runners, hand out bottled water and keep the flow moving. It's important to have all runners exit the baseball field quickly, moving up the steps to the concourse level. Here they will find our re-fueling zone stocked with additional water, fruit and healthy snacks.

SATURDAY: Post Race Re-fueling Zone

Details

As participants finish their races, they will be quickly guided off the baseball field, up stadium steps and onto the concourse. This is where they will reach our re-fueling zone. Volunteers will hand out bottled water, fruit and other healthy snacks to race participants. Help us keep the stadium clean while distributing items quickly and efficiently.

Volunteers will also encourage and direct participants to head over to the post-race party for additional food options, live music and the much-anticipated awards ceremony.

SATURDAY: Singers / Bands / Musicians of all kinds

One of the highlights of the Rock N Run is the live music! We are looking for local musicians of all kinds to perform along the course and motivate our runners and walkers. Professional singers, music groups, as well as marching bands and budding solo artists are all welcome.

This is a great opportunity to reach a new audience, perform in a unique setting, and most importantly support local children in foster care!

*Note: there is no electrical power along the course. Let us work with you to determine the best way to have your live music heard by all.
